Ralph, Global Research? Seriously? I'll ignore that because they do include
the source for *their* article as the International Pacific Research
Center<http://iprc.soest.hawaii.edu/>.
This is legit even of GR is a farce. What's not legit is the broad side
statement from GR that a 1955(!) reports says that the size and currents of
the Pacific Ocean may not dilute radiation sufficiently. No one actually
uses this report anymore in ocean science as NASA and other institutes have
quantum leap more advanced technology like satellite imagery that was only
sci-fi in 1955. But anyway, a sample of the red plume (representing high
concentrations of Cs137) on the graphic provided would be enough to
determine the actual threat to health levels, if any. I'm open to being
convinced.

The context of this is one scare after another. Less than 8 months ago was
the big "tuna scare" about blue fin tuna being "contaminated" with high
radiation levels. In fact they did have radiation levels, so low as to need
special equipment to read the levels. Call me jaded but I'll wait until
more evidence is in on this 'danger'. And now, I'm not getting rid of a
granite cutting board I have simply because the natural levels of radiation
are higher than any sealife in the Pacific at this point.

What's really missing, or faded from discussion, on the left anyway, in the
real world of engineering, it continues, is an analysis of what happened at
Fukushima, the chain of events and the logic of how to prevent such
accidents from happening again. Also noted is why not ONE left blog has
ever entertained the human disaster of why 20,000 Japanese died as a result
of inadequate sea wall protection after the 2011 earthquake, the raging
inferno's that engulfed whole towns and oil refinery fires that burned for
weeks and spewed read-world death around Japan. It's not as scary as
"radiation" (which still hasn't killed a single person yet) and, one didn't
have professional anti-nuke activists turning up the heat over the real
engineering problems in dealing with tsunamis. Not sexy enough and
certainly a distraction from their real enemy, nuclear energy.
