Here's some more "reporting" from an official Cuban outlet:
The gangs of mercenaries and Islamic radicals operating in Syria lack
popular support for which they try to resort to the forced recruiting of
youngsters.
A document issued by those armed irregular groups in Eastern Ghouta
region, Damascus Field province, to which Prensa Latina had access [I'll
bet], decree compulsory recruiting for all Syrian males born between
1983 and 1994.
In case of not turning up in 24 hours term, threatened the irregulars,
they will be taken by force to fulfil their Jihads duty, noted the
source. [Shouldn't they have added that those shirking their duty would
be beheaded?] Nearly half of the troops the Western considered as rebels
in Syria are made up of Jihads (extremists) and radical Islamists,
recently revealed the British newspaper Daily Telegraph.

Does anybody have contacts in Cuba? Michael Lebowitz? Frederico Fuentes?
Couldn't you politely recommend that they clean up their act? I wouldn't
suggest Lippmann because he would most certainly feel that they are on
the right track.
