The opening reception of the photographic exhibition Stories of El Salvador: The Civil War and Its Aftermath is organized by the Graduate Association of Latin American Studies, and curated by Jose Raul Guzman and Camilla Querin. The exhibition focuses on the Civil War in El Salvador and the role of women during and after the conflict. The story is told utilizing the photojournalism archive of the North American Congress on Latin America (<https://nacla.org/> NACLA <https://nacla.org/>) and through the inclusion of portraits from the Mujeres de la Guerra Project. The reception will take place in room 912 of the Kimmel Center, with poetry reading by Jose Javier Zamora, live performance by Laura Vargas and remarks by the activist Theodora Simon from Mujeres de la Guerra Project and Anila Churi, Director of NACLA. Opening Reception: Tuesday April 8, 2014, 5pm. Exhibition open until May 4.
