Yuriy Mikhalchishyn, the guy that attacked first, is one of the true
fascists inside 'Svoboda'.

So it's accurate to call him 'fascist MP'. The long-haired guy over
there is Igor Miroshnichenko, another representative of the fascist
wing of 'Svoboda'.

As for the CP, they still _declare_ they are Marxist-Leninist which
does not mean they really _are_ Marxist-Leninist.

They were never built as a class party. They are a populist party that
exploited the Soviet nostalgia in the 90s.

Their ideology in practice is a wild mix of geopolitics, Soviet
history worship, some populist social demands and clericalism. They
see themselves as champions of the 'Slavic orthodox civilisation'
against the West. They are extremely pro-Russian.

During the recent events they have shown themselves as loyal
satellites of the party of Regions and voted for all repressive laws.
And their official newspaper made some racist comments about Maidan
supporters (http://www.komunist.com.ua/article/1/20192.htm).

That explains why their popularity has fallen extremely low and it
looks like they will be unable to pass the 5% threshold needed for
parliamentary presence at the next elections.
