One of the interesting things about ULA member of parliament Clare Daly is that since she and the Taafite SP parted company, she has become far less hostile to republicans. She's actually started speaking out about the position of republican POWs. She supported Marian Price, for instance, during Marian's imprisonment without trial and now seems to regularly speak at public meetings in support of POWs. The SP has an atrocious position on the prisoners. They also support the prison warders union in the north of Ireland, which is a viciously anti-prisoner 'union' and defender of violence against republican POWs.
