I have been thinking ever since Corbyn's ascension to the leadership of the
Labour Party of the 1988 mini- series *A Very British Coup* starring the
great Irish actor Ray MacAnally. A left leaning former steel worker is
elected as Prime Minister and that is the trigger for a coup. I personally
do not believe that Corbyn can last long enough to make the coup a viable
option for the ruling class. Corbyn is no Allende. The Blairites will
probably take him out long before a coup is thought of as necessary.

But this all may be a necessary stage before the final collapse of the
Labour Party and the emergence of a broad left alternative.
