I prefer the analysis at Richard Seymour’s Lenin’s Tomb. He has it that Bannon has overreached but is trying to reconstruct politics to the far right in a period which Bannon sees in apocalyptic terms. What has stymied the Trump forces has been the reaction in the streets, within the state and in sections of capital. Of these three the most important is the reaction in the street. It was swift and instinctive and totally correct. It did not need the stock exchange to tell it to act.
