What do you think of the Popular Front period here in Queensland (Australia) , Gary ---tactically blessed, as it was, by the refusal of the Australian Labor Party to work with communists. Maybe it is the best example of the community work of the CPA -- Communist Party of Australia -- later warped by the impact of the war economy and further industrial changes? We actually did have a bona fide 'Red North'. Any review of the period, in Australia, is a great lessen in community organizing and a slap in the face of later penchants for sectarianisms. Did the regional CPAers pull their punches? Personally I don't think so. And the Fred Paterson legacy lives on as an aspiration to match.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Paterson legacy dave riley _________________________________________________________ Full posting guidelines at: http://www.marxmail.org/sub.htm Set your options at: http://lists.csbs.utah.edu/options/marxism/archive%40mail-archive.com
