Exclude the Kurdish opposition? The opposition to what? The Kurds never had the slightest interest in joining the revolution against Assad. In a way, they were the "good" ISIS, taking advantage of chaos to create their own Caliphate based on the teachings of Murray Bookchin rather than Salafist texts.
