Frank Keane was O/C of the Dublin brigade of the IRA in the early 1960s. In the late 1960s he, several other prominent former activists in the Dublin IRA and some young supporters of the Fourth International formed Saor Eire, a political-military organisation dedicated to fighting for Irish national liberation and socialism. . . Saor Eire would subsequently be much maligned.
