This article is relevant to what is happening in the Covid-19 crisis in this sense: We are seeing the rise of conspiracy theory ideas regarding this pandemic. Some on the "left" will be taken in by these ideas. In reality, they will be advancing the agenda of the far, far right. Their mode of thinking as well as the political alliances they will be making is the same as those on the "left" who either overtly or covertly support Assad and see him as some sort of anti-imperialist leader.
