This is unmitigated bullshit. We discussed the OJ trial on the Marxism list that preceded this one. The entire liberal blogosphere, as well as the Nation Magazine, Huffington Post, Salon.com et al, are discussing this. So is the bourgeois press. People have differences over this matter. When you accuse one side of being misogynist, it cuts off discussion. Period. This is the sort of crap that the CP was infected by in the late 1940s when the witch-hunt was gathering steam. People got thrown out for having male chauvinist or racist attitudes, usually at the same time that they were uncomfortable with the party's drift. We need to keep these kinds of charges to an absolute minimum if we are generally interested in a free exchange of ideas. The god-damned prosecutor in the case has just now told the media that he was *lying* in the documentary about Polanski when he told them that he was in cahoots with the judge. This is absolutely mind-boggling and makes the legal system in the USA even more arbitrary than usual.
