ML, I don't think changing the way we dress would change anything either way. The idea that if we all talk more "ameriKanadian" and dress like it, etc would win over them masses is more outrageous than embracing our ideals in visual form. Inf act, for us it poses a challenge to the status quo, every time you step outside ina Che shirt you put up a flag and make a statement. I do agree with you about the danger of yuppies co-opting communist culture. Thee is the danger of third positioning also. We just have to fight to keep it "pure". I don't agree about sweeping our symbols under the rug, I don't think it helps. Let's talk about the history and put it on the table without fear. Let's defend our beliefs and our past. We will only be able to make our own symbols when we are liberated to do so anyways. Being forced to cover our beliefs in the hopes others will embrace us and capitulating to capitalist propaganda I don't think does anything. Comradely, MR Which is the bottom line, isn't it? > > Symbols of real, living struggles are important.
