This article provides more details than I have seen on Assange's
sexcapades with his Swedish female admirers who, for whatever
motivations, later turned on him, as well as the oddities of Swedish
law. It confirms that he is not charged with "rape," but with "sex by
surprise" (who could cook up such a concept except a troll?).
If it's true that at least one of his partner admirers asked him to
undergo test for STDs and he refused, it raises the question as to why
she then had sex with him, and subsequently turned on him. This would be
a soap opera if it weren't for the very real threats against him now
being made not just by legal authorities but by Christian fanatics
issuing fatwas against him.
I checked the Swedish criminal code, and couldn't find any article
that defined sex without a condom (apparently, what is involved in
Assange's case) as "rape."
