Assange's lawyer gave a perspective on things on the BBC's Newsnight programme
today that you wouldn't know from the vast majority of the coverage; Assange
has been trying to arrange surrender to face the charges or non-charges (even
the lawyer seems in the dark on this) since September.

Assange will hand himself over to the London police Tuesday morning, according
to his lawyer.

The current low profile of this story will allow the mainstream media to
"break" it in some ridiculous Bonnie and Clyde type way.

I wonder if vilifying Assange will prove to cut both ways; with him safely
behind bars for a while, Wikileaks can continue their work. Assange noted the
other day the the Internet itself would have to be dismantled to stop the flow
of documents. So far only 0.2% of what's coming has been released.
