Since the book came out during the Clinton impeachment, I have always thought that is why the NATION never bothered to review it -- they were too busy defending Cllinton against impeachment. And speaking of THE WEST WING, season 2, episode 16, I think that in that episode, there is a MERGER of the Hiss and Rosenberg cases --- the young woman who asks "Josh" to intervene refers to her father who had just died after a career as an economist (I also had a career as an economist!!). In addition, the reason they "hook" Josh to make these inquiries is because as a student Josh had written a paper about the FBI's "bad behavior" in the "Gault" case --- FBI bad behavior is the argument that has been hammered home beginning with 1955 and ramped up with the 1965 publication of Invitation to an Inquest as the main arguments against the Rosenberg convictions ---- FBI inspired perjury, forgery, etc. --- With the release of the VENONA decryptions, the establishment had their "proof" that despite all that perjury and perversion of the "American justice system" Julius Rosenberg was definitely guilty --- (The VENONA case for Hiss' guilt is much less certain to be sure -- and of course Venona makes it clear that Ethel Rosenberg was never a spy but the media and some so-called "scholars" refuse to acknowledge that!). So thanks for bringing up that episode for detailed analysis .... Your main point that neo-liberalism was really ensconced by the Clinton Administration is something that the Sanders-Warren wing of the Democratic Party has to be ready to fight should Biden get elected and attempt to hit the reset button back to 2015 ...
