Microsoft Project BTW is an invaluable scheduling and project planning tool that goes far, far beyond the basics of Gantt charts It isn't so easy to use once you get into it, but remains AFAIK the gold standard for much of the actual work that goes on. I worked as a tester, analyst, and techical writer on a project to restate all the financial results for Fannie Mae for a particular period, and the PMO they set up for this did little but maintain a staff of Project Managers (so-called) whose work consisted almost entirely of constructing Project applications full of multiple interdependencies and monitoring progress toward the ever-shifting goals.
It worked--though of course it couldn't keep the bastards honest in the long run. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
