I think you article frame's it quit nicely...I would add the logistics aspect of this. Allen goes quite heavily into the planning aspect of large logistic companies like Amazon and FedEx. I think the "role" of logistics here sort of "fill in" the starting point of consumer wants and manufacturing. Getting that "want" (commodities) from production to arrival can be filled out using Allen's essays. The basis of course are you previous essays to this one (I think) on B2B software. Oddly, IMO, it actually makes "the market" work sans profit motive. As you noted such software and hardware provides the technological basis (among others) for socialist society.
