There's undoubtedly something rotten going on with the Uyghurs but it's a stretch to call that settler-colonialism when there were people from the minority group in the original CPC leadership of the autonomous region. Settler colonialism fosters a class of collaborators and state-sanctioned leaders (just as anyone who ever lived on a so-called Indian reservation) but that followed a mass-extermination/eradication campaign.
