CHARTER SCHOOL MORATORIUM (S0013): A bill stops new charter schools for the next few years and freezes charter school expansions during that period (S0013). The bill says that no new charter schools or charter school expansions can begin operation in the coming school year and the following two school years (a 3-year period from Summer 2021 to Summer 2024), unless they already have final approval. No state funding can be given out during this 3-year period for new charter schools or charter school expansions, unless they were approved already before July 2020.
