Some time ago, I came across a video on YouTube of John McWhorter talking with Glenn Loury. I didn't know who either of them were. It was one of those rare, genuine debates where neither person tried to demolish the other.
Maybe that's because there's only two degrees of separation. McWhorter was a contributing editor to a racist, pro-cop, anti-union rag while Glenn Loury was an academic version of Bill Cosby. From Wikipedia:
