that New Yorker article was extremely clever and yet to those who knew Chomsky's work SO DAMN DISGUSTINGLY TRANSPARENT .... appearing to be a "portrait" it was much harder to see through than the usual efforts to call him a "self hating Jew" (on Israel-Palestine) or the more usual approach --- to totally ignore him and ban him from many outlets for decades ....
