Whether you despise Cmrd. Reimann as a Lesser Evilist running dog or not (I
don't), Biden's capitulationism certainly seems to have accelerated during the
past two weeks.  He's distanced himself, as I see it, from the IMO admirable
and viciously libeled Fauci; certainly weakened the economic "reform" package
he's been using to hoodwink the DSA; and--as I mentioned previously (which I
sort of regretted as over the top after I said it, but ... ) appears to have
designated Manchin as his point man for all things neoliberal and austere.
However obfuscated the approach, he is clearly backtracking on corporate tax
increases, no doubt preparing the way for--as per the wonderful Gov. Cuomo--not
raising taxes on the wealthy at all.  Elon Musk will probably not only not pay
any income tax, but receive a personal subsidy.

This of course may lead to the fulfillment of Uncle Joe's longtime pet project,
cutting Social Security, etc.

I predicted months ago that we would see Biden's Justice Department going to
court on behalf of Trump.  I didn't really believe that either, but now, sure
as shit, here we are:

I think reflexive opposition to lesser evilism can lead to what might be called
Samsonism--just wanting to pull the temple down because so what--the invisible
hand of the dialectic will fix everything.  There has to be some way in which
the non DSA left can put pressure on for infrastructure demands and support
such "reforms" as universal healthcare without capitulation to the Bidens of
the world.  The concessions that capital might be induced to make in the
interests of its own survival have the potential to be used against it.  Why
not exploit them?

But Biden seems to have figured this out and maybe to have decided on a course
of less and less subtle treachery to "beat the socialist."  It isn't
surprising.  It's also dead stupid for the Democrats from a political point of
view, as it will only strengthen the political case for Trump-style far-right
anarchy--IMO a likelier outcome than something hideous but saner, such as a
military coup "to restore the constitution." The overall economic effect would
be very bad, surely.

But here we are.  And now what?  I know--The Return of Rahm Emanuel and Larry
Summers!  Tune in next week.
