I am not sure that I would want to uphold the partition of the British Raj into India and Pakistan as a great example of a two-state solution. That partition was accompanied by a great deal of ethnic and religious cleansing in both countries along with mass bloodshed. Furthermore, since that time, India and Pakistan have fought several wars.
