The good news is that divisions within Israeli society bring the possibility of 
a ceasefire and an end to the genocide closer, but the uncritical acceptance 
that the hostages were executed by their captors rather than killed along with 
the tens and perhaps hundreds of thousands in Gaza by Israeli bombing and 
shelling is classic propaganda. Hamas and allied resistance groups were holding 
the hostages as bargaining chips for a ceasefire and would have had little to 
gain by killing them, a consideration which has been predictably discounted in 
Israel and by the Biden administration and ignored in the Washington Post 
account below.
