I find this whole conversation cliché and boring.

The two party system is inherently undemocratic. We live under a higgly
undemocratic system. We elect a president who is a temporary monarch, with
massive powers. This has been the case for a very long time. The power of
our temporary monarch has increased geometrically since 1941. The vote for
this temporary monarch comes down to 6 or 7 of the smaller states. Living
in New York my vote for the temporary monarch of the U.S. is practically
useless.

But the fact that we elect a temporary monarch means that we are electing
the terrorist-and-chief of the planet, a person who is able to wage what
should be called "war," without very many checks except for the military
itself. This temporary monarch is always a potential threat to the people
of the world and to those who are marginalized among the domestic
population.

What this means is that our very undemocratic votes are just a guess. But
they also mean a lot to the rest of the world.

Our system is guided by the personality of the elected monarch, not by the
monarch's program or stated beliefs. Both Nixon and Reagan brought us very
close to nuclear holocaust several times because they were irresponsible
imperial presidents. They both, with the advice of their wise men,
committed genocide in small countries. Nixon was unstable and Reagan was
vacuous and surrounded by desk-murderers.

It matters to the world whether an unstable psychopath with extreme racist
views and fascist tendencies is elected president or a relatively stable
prosecutorial oppressor is elected. One has a 65 percent of destroying the
world and the other has a 20 percent chance of destroying the world. (This
is my guess.) This kind of expected value evaluation is evil in-itself. But
we live in an evil system going through a "crisis-without-alternative."

No matter who is elected they will still be terrorist-and-chief.
