[Edited Message Follows] [Reason: added to last sentence.] I earnesly hope Ritter and others who think Israel has fatally bitten off more than it can chew and that the Zionist state is destined for collapse are right, but weighing against this optimistic scenario is Israeli air power and nuclear weapons and the military and economic support of US imperialism and its allies. So it’s equally possible that the Zionist settler colony, like its genocidal predecessors in earlier centuries, crushes the determined resistance of the indigenous “savages”, aka “Amaleks”, and herds the surviving inhabitants into poverty-stricken territories and neighbourhoods. It will then only remain for later generations of secure liberal Israelis to guiltily acknowledge that they “live on the unceded land of the Palestinian people” without doing much to redress their conditions.
Short of their overthrow, the neighbouring Arab and Turkish regimes and possibly a chastened Iranian one will continue to watch as the process unfolds while hoping a ceasefire will bring new opportunities to profit from trading and commercial relations with the Zionist state. This gloomier perspective hasn’t stopped me from venting my rage and calling for a ceasefire at the weekly Palestinian solidarity rally and march but I haven't yet gotten around to chanting “Gaza, Gaza, have no fear.
