Hello! A Russian citizen living in Serbia is facing the threat of deportation. We would like to highlight this case on our various platforms to help prevent the deportation.
- - - A Russian citizen, Anton Bobryshev, may be deported from Serbia. According to a decision by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on September 16, 2024, his residence permit (RP) extension was denied, and he was ordered to leave the country. However, Bobryshev owns property in Serbia, which should entitle him to an RP extension. The Ministry’s decision stated that the Russian citizen poses an “unacceptable risk to national security.” Bobryshev himself believes that the refusal to extend his RP is politically motivated, as he does not support the current Russian government and opposes the war in Ukraine. Anton Bobryshev moved to Serbia long before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. He lived in Belgrade and later moved to the city of Pančevo. According to Pyotr Nikitin from the "Russian Democratic Society," Bobryshev actively participated in protests, which had no impact on his residency status in Serbia until now. The turning point, according to Nikitin, may have been the protest Bobryshev organized in support of Alexei Navalny on June 4, 2023, in Pančevo.
