I think we are all inclined to make the mistake and think that the State is a monolith. Given that Biden's administration has been a total disaster outside his neo-Keynesianism for which he gets like a 40% pass mark.
We are left then to consider his total performance re the State Department. It has sunk to utter depravity and much (all?) of it is Biden's fault before his dementia provided him with something of a waiver. Now at the moment I am reading in moral philosophy and my reading suggests that no nation can survive without "general benevolence" (Bishop Butler). The US is hugging resentment closely and that is killing it as a nation as the resentment morphs into malice.
