The Apprentice has wonderful performances by Sebastian Stan as Trump from the late 1970’s to around 1986, and by Jeremy Strong as the despicable Roy Cohn (who boasts about getting Ethel Rosenberg executed, even though there was no evidence against her). The film has a simple premise: that it was Cohn and Trump’s dad, Fred Trump, who taught Donald to become a “killer”, always following three principles: (1) Always attack, attack, attack, (2) always deny you did anything wrong, and (3) even when you lose, never admit defeat. Trump meets Cohn when he’s looking for help — which Cohn provides — in fighting a federal lawsuit charging the Trump real estate business with discriminating against black tenants. The film ends years before Trump took out full-page ads calling for the death penalty for the Central Park Five. There is a brutal scene in which Trump rapes his wife Ivana. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
