I've seen some DSA reactions. No matter, though, because that masssive DSA
of 100,000 with a large engaged membership is probably a thing of the past.

Btw, the DSA had no internal discipline about electoral politics.  There
existed no reason for members who wanted to run independent local campaigns
as socialists in their community not to do so.  In fact, had they done so,
it would have been hard for the local DSA leaders to have openly opposed
them. In fact, there were lots of socialists who said they favored it and
became members.

I think it would have made a lot of sense for them to have done so and
demonstrated the viability of such campaigns.

Why this did not happen is beyond me. But I suspect that the time this
could have accomplished something is far in the rear view mirror at this
point.
