Neoliberal, "Reagan" Democrats are quick to join their Republican compatriots 
in blaming progressives and the left they have worked to crush for years but 
this article gets closer to the reality. If Democrats as a party cannot purge 
these neo-conservatives and return to a more Rooseveltian, people-first 
populism than they should be abandoned.

The Progressive Caucus should split off, join with the Working Families Party, 
the Poor People's Campaign, Labor, Environmental, and Civil Rights 
organizations and move forward with a new, legitimate progressive party.
