The https://www.communistvoice.org/SWV-250115.pdf leaflet is classic ML. Like
most of the left on this thread it makes no advocacy for independent working
class action against the unfolding attacks from the bipartisan capitalist
state.
No where in the leaflet or the thread is advocacy to mobilize union resistance
to the deportations by organizing union led self defense guards, opening union
halls to immigrant defense work, extending union membership to undocumented
workers or organizing strikes, pickets or blockades against the deportations,
and ICE concentration camps. Such advocacy requires a class struggle in the
unions against the leaderships who collaborate with and are in the main
Democratic party hacks in order to turn the unions into schools of revolution
instead of tools of the capitalist state. And indeed such a fight raises the
question of a mass workers party being formed in the struggle. Likewise there
is no mention of advocating for the ILA and ILWU and other port workers (IAM
and independent truckers) to organize to stop military shipments as is
necessary to stop the genocide in Gaza, drive the Zionists out of the Golan
Heights and defend the West Bank now under assault.
Others (Charlie) on the thread point to the PSL maximalist slogan to show there
is something in the way of concrete demands at the protests last week.
Concrete demands would be both aimed at the ruling class such as Stop
Deportations and Citizenship Rights for all undocumented workers and at the
working class to organize union and worker defense of the undocumented.
So the bah humbug from Mark B and Mark L are not out of line and David W's
critique of the PSL is also spot on.
Communist Voice includes its anti-Hamas supplication cataloging the victims of
October 7th but does not mention the Lancet estimate of the near 200,000 killed
in Gaza nor identify the targeting of women, children, journalists, medical
workers and first responders. While they rightly point at the role of military
and theocratic authoritarian regimes in the region failing to support the
Palestinians they fail to look in the mirror at the historic Bloc of Four
classes method which got us to the disastrous situation in the first place by
subordinating the Marxist method of class independence fighting for the agency
of the working class to the theory of Socialism in one country and the cross
class popular front developed by the Stalinist Bureaucracy which usurped power
in the USSR and collapsed the third international.

Donald Trump is inaugurated president on January 20, with the bedrock of his
MAGA movement being racism. His administration will be an offensive of white
supremacy, of eliminating memory of black history, of fighting diversity, of
rolling
back civil rights and negating the civil rights movement. Resistance must be
built,
and like in the time of Martin Luther King this is going to be a protracted and
self-sacrificing struggle. Also like that time, it will take place beside other
struggles. That's because the Trump agenda also includes things like the
following: Denying women their reproductive rights. A "drill, baby, drill"
energy
policy that will further increase global heating. Causing more illnesses,

and deaths by tearing up regulations that hinder profit-making. Giving massive

breaks to the parasitical billionaires while slashing benefits for the poor and
working people. Continuing U.S. support for Israel's genocidal slaughter of the
Palestinian people. And massive deportations of our undocumented fellow
workers and students, friends and neighbors "from Day One." Thus, the necessity
for organizing mass resistance to Trump's entire reactionary offensive. This
