Rich people rule but they cannot sustain a modern national capitalist economy without the rest of us. As Keynes pointed out decades ago, capitalism cannot create the needed number of jobs to keep any capitalist country above severe depression. It required a certain percent of public employment to keep a capitalist economy afloat; his "Employer of Last Resort. Now that the severely myopic, greed-driven Trump/Musk wrecking crew are cutting public workers, you can be assured the economy will crash -- and that may be the intent of a few like Bannon and Musk. The question in my mind is how far they will go before insiders end it to protect their own wealth and to prevent predictable backlash. I remember that Rockefeller said he would sacrifice half his fortune to keep the other half. There are and have always been schism withing the ruling class and none of them will come to save us but they will mobilize to save themselves. Any thoughts on this?
