*Capitalist Decline, Global Shift of Production and Changing Composition of the World Proletariat*

Marxists have explained since many years that the two most important trends of modern capitalism are the following:

a) the global shift of capitalist value production and the world proletariat from the Western imperialist countries to China and the Global South;

b) the emergence of new imperialist powers (most importantly China and Russia) and the consequential rivalry between the Western and Eastern Great Powers.

In fact, both developments have a common basis: the decline of capitalism in general and of the U.S. – the long-time hegemon – in particular.
