Great article. I just ordered the books by Morais and Bell. Toni Negri's book "Insurgencies" is one of the all time greatest works of political theory, well beyond what it says about the American Revolution, though I interpret his argument about that Revolution somewhat differently. In any case the work traces the possibilities of "all power to the soviets" so to speak as the attempts of direct popular power to run the state throughout the past 500 years and the theories that addressed those attempts in their times. Far more important than his better known bestselling works on Empire etc. with Michael Hardt later on.
