He doesn't mention that the owner of the blast furnace, British Steel, became a Chinese corporation inThe 2020. Early this year the owner, Jingye, let it out that it planned to import steel from China for final finishing in Britain. Once you shut down a blast furnace, the cost of firing it up again is enormous. The British government took control of British Steel to prevent the closure.
