Near the beginning Chomsky says that language is what distinguishes human beings. Lots of things distinguish human beings; however, the distinction that gave rise to human beings from among animals is labor. Language came much (?) later. And today, changes in labor change what it means to be human; changes in language have no such driving force. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
