Wishful thinking I believe on the part of the Venezuelan Armed Forces. I'm glad they have a fighting spirit but given the lack of allies in the region that can actually contribute to their defense against American Imperialism, I believe their air force and anti-air defensive units will be toast after the first 24 hours. One the ways in which Israel's IDF took out every piece of Syrian air defense, including the overly hyped S-300, BUK, and S-400 systems was using the simple fact that these systems are completely useless... when the are turned off! Keeping these systems powered up is expensive, requires a lot of gasoline/diesel fuel, and constant awareness. The U.S. will likely target these systems *first* and eliminate all of them before doing whatever it is they intend to do. I believe the U.S. is going to seize key oil facilities and governmental institutions and bomb the hell out of VAF concentration by trying to get Maduro to resign. Or, they intend to kill him. I do not predict a *big* ground operation but a regional seizure of key Venezuelan assets.
