I think it's becoming a national movement in places like San Francisco. I 
wouldn't be surprised if Portland, Oregon took another run at public ownership. 
We had a chance 25 years ago after Enron purchased Portland General Electric 
and then imploded two years later over their fraud. Back then, the IBEW, 
Northwest Labor Council and Columbia Pacific Building Trades came out opposed 
to a public utility district in 2023, actively campaigned against it with feet 
in the street, and the measure failed.

Maybe next time will be different.
