Trump and Rubio's unbelievable press conference, backed by US military spokespeople were blatantly clear that the invasion of Venezuela and kidnaping of Maduro and his wife is all about controlling its oil on behalf of the US oil industry. The sycophants in the press generally asked softball questions. Threats were made specifically against Cuba in response to a leading question from a reporter; earlier similar threats against Mexico and Pres. Sheinbaum. And in regard to both Cuba and Venezuela they made it clear that they were going to be rewarding exiles in the US from the two countries. Trump specifically rejected even the Venezuelan "opposition leader" Machado who won the Nobel Prize. "We're going to be taking back the oil that frankly we should have done a long time ago. We're going to be reimbursed for everything," Trump said. There are reports of protests in Venezuela, and calls from the Venezuelan Attorney General snd others for resistance to the US occupation.
