The Gerald R. Ford and its task force entered the Mediterranean today which means it could arrive in the Eastern Mediterranean in a little more than 2 days travel at top speed. In other words, the soonest an attack is likely is three days from now. Other aircraft are now being assembled at bases in the UK and Europe and are not yet ready for an attack, but also could be ready soon.

If they think they have some possibility of regime purchase or regime change, that will guide their targeting. If they just want to degrade Iran's military further, then their targets will be different.
