Last Sunday, Mexican authorities conducted an operation in Talpa,
Jalisco, starting early in the morning, resulting in the death of
Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, alias "El Mencho," the alleged leader
of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). Hours later, alleged CJNG
members blocked highways in dozens of municipalities across the country
using burning buses, trucks, and private vehicles, and even backhoes.
