Hard to square this with reports we have been seeing in the recent past about a glut in world oil supply. There was reportedly a "ghost fleet" of tankers carrying embargoed oil from Iran and Venezuela loitering in the oceans. And there is the matter that the low price of crude has hit the U.S. oil patch rather hard. Arguably, to the extent this war ratchets up the price it will benefit Trump's donors, many of which are based in petroleum. SR
