*Observations About Some Nationalist and Islamist Currents in the Middle
East*

The 7 October and the Iran War have been momentous events for the Middle
East as well as globally. They also have profound consequences for
nationalist and Islamist movements. In the following article we will
present a few observations about some nationalist and Islamist currents
deriving from our collaboration and discussions with activists. We want
to emphasize that this is not a comprehensive report or analysis of
these movements but only a report about some aspects of their view and
problems. However, we are convinced that these observations are of
interest for revolutionaries active on Middle East issues. Given the
fact that such forces often face state repression – both by tyrannical
regimes in the region as well as by Western governments – the alert
reader will certainly understand that names can not be named, and many
things have to be formulated in an algebraic way.
