*Brazil: Scandalous Attack on Palestine Solidarity! Defend Zé María!*
*Judge sentences PSTU/LIT-CI leader for speech against the State of Israel*
/Statement of the RCIT, 1 May 2026/
A few days ago, a Criminal Court sentenced Zé María – leader of the PSTU
(Brazilian section of LIT-CI) – to two years in prison for the crime of
“/racism/.” As a matter of fact, his only “crime” was a speech in
defense of the Palestinian people, denouncing the genocide and the
colonialist regime imposed by the State of Israel on occupied Palestine.
Naturally, the PSTU did already announce that they will appeal to the
Federal Court of São Paulo.
