A part of Jabotinsky's argument was that he was being more honest and candid about what the Zionist project entailed than what other Zionists were willing to admit. From his standpoint many of the other Zionists were being less forthright and so were deceiving others and possibly themselves concerning how Zionist objectives were to be achieved . Much of this is applicable to the Labor Zionists who professed to be left-wing.in the history of Israel, many of Israel's most egregious crimes were perpetrated under Labor-led governments . Jabotinsky would not have been surprised .
Another point that he made was that Zionists needed to be loyal to Western imperialism . Individual Zionists might feel some sympathy for emerging anticolonial movements but for the Zionist movement to support anticolonialism would constitute a great betrayal of Zionism's major supporters. Such a betrayal, Zionism could not afford.
