January 1, 2026: Increase in the basic VAT rate to 22%. A step toward
restructuring the economy to cover growing government spending and to
maintain a budget balance under sanctions. This step has led to another
price hike, which is affecting the standard of living of the country's
working population. Already high prices will put an even greater strain
on the average citizen's wallet, driving more and more people into debt.
However, the state treasury will be replenished, which will create new
opportunities for the occupation of Ukraine or, at a minimum, will allow
to keep what has already been achieved.
