I do hope you'll indulge my curiosity a little, but can I ask which
University you're attending? Since I'm in the industry of teaching Perl,
I'm very interested to know where it's being taught on a tertiary level.
If you're looking for examples, then the previously mentioned Mason Book is
indeed a good start:
http://www.masonbook.com/
I've also got a presentation on Mason for people who don't know Mason (or
Perl) which can be found at:
http://perltraining.com.au/talks/whirlwind/
The presentation is optimised for full-screen display on a projector. If
you're using firefox, you can just hit F11 for a presentation view, and use
spacebar to progress along the presentation. The associated conference
paper which can be read directly can be found at:
http://perltraining.com.au/talks/whirlwind.html
And you'll find lots of resources at Mason HQ:
http://www.masonhq.com/
If you're looking for *ideas*, then I find the best projects are ones you
really enjoy. If you enjoy scuba diving, then write a website that allows
you to keep logbooks on-line. If you enjoy cooking, then put together a
recipe-oriented website. Projects are a lot more fun and easier to work on
when they apply to something you enjoy. ;)
Cheerio,
Paul
