yes.. thanks for the reply--  but I did configure the default gateway
to point to the masq server as well.

See, most of the masq functionality works from the windoz clients--
it's only DNS to "nicknamed" or "aliased" hosts which fails.  If
I go by IP number or to any host which is not aliased, the masquerading
works fine.
